Our Travels to Animal Kingdom

Disney's Animal Kingdom Trip Report
Animal Kingdom
Traveling to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park as a Single Parent is not too tough.  I usually like to go to Animal Kingdom in the morning when it is cooler and then go to Hollywood Studios in the evening when Hollywood Studios has extended Magic Hours.  Disney's Animal Kingdom is not open real late.   Some days it can be open as late as 8:00 p.m. or as early as 5:00 p.m.  Check the calendar here for the times before you go.

According to the Disney's Animal Kingdom website, it says they have more than 1700 animals!  When we have visited in the past, we have seen Tigers, Zebra, Giraffe, Lions, etc., to name a few.  If you would like to see the Tigers, you would take the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I love the way the Tiger area is themed.

One of our favorite rides to take to see the animals of Africa, is the Kilimanjaro Safaris(R) Expedition.  You ride on a tram through mud and bumpy hills, it is quite the adventure.

Not only does Disney's Animal Kingdom have animals to see and learn about, but there are shows too.  The central theme of the park is the Tree of Life.  It is 14 stories high and 50 feet wide.  Inside the trunk of the tree is where you would go to see It's Tough to be a Bug, a 3D movie.
Word of caution, I took Nadia to see this movie at about 2 or 3 years old and she cried and was scared.  So the movie might be scary for the younger ones.

Some of the shows offered at the park are: Finding Nemo - The Musical and Festival of the Lion King.  We have not had a chance to see these shows yet, but they sound like they would be really good.

With all the shows and animals to see, do not forget about the rides.  Yes, there are some roller coasters for big kids like Expedition Everest and Primeval Whirl. Escape from a hungry Dinosaur on the ride called "Dinosaur".  These are all fun.  You can ride the Kali River Rapids and get wet.  There are also a few rides for the little ones too.

Disney's Animal Kingdom makes for a fun and educational day spent together with your family.

You can find out more information on events, times, attractions and more at Disney's Animal Kingdom website.

Check out the new Animal Kingdom at Night Show, starting in May 2016! Looks pretty cool.
